  Print Colors

We carry fine art reproductions of contemporary as well as classical impressionist artists, both American and French. Our art reproductions are very different from the prints and posters sold in most museum art stores. In those stores most prints are produced using standard printing presses which print using inks of four colors. The same is true of all art books, even the glossy ones. This in the trade is called "process" printing' using "cmyk" colors. "C" stands for cyan; "m" stands for magenta; "y" stands for yellow; and "k" stands for black. Using these four ink colors, printing presses can create a certain limited color gamut. That is why color images of a painting in an art book don't always resemble the real painting. New ink jet printer technology allows for the use of six, and sometimes more, ink colors, which create a much broader color gamut. This allows for a more accurate reproduction of the original painting.

Print Resolution

The second important difference in our reproductions is that our images have much greater detail and definition. For example, if one were to inspect a color image in a fine art book or poster using a strong magnifier, one would notice that the image breaks up and looks very fuzzy. The printing resolution is low. When one examines our reproductions using strong magnification, the image maintains its integrity. The clarity is so much greater because we use high resolution settings in the printing process, usually 1440 dots of ink per inch.

Contemporary Art Reproductions

Our contemporary reproductions are of original paintings by Elaine Sinnard. Ms. Sinnard is a noted contemporary American artist who enjoys a wide reputation for her "luminist" painting. In describing her work Ms. Sinnard says that: "An atmospheric illusion is caused by subtle toning and fusing, by softening the hard edges and painting in the "sfumato" technique. I strive to release subtle gradations of color values into a spiritual emanation. The effects of pigment and brush strokes are understated, causing a smooth, apparently flat-like surface, which begins to glow and overflow with light when viewed from a distance (Luminism)."

It has been said that "Her work is flavored with spiritual quality, capturing the beauty of nature in a mystical way that delights the senses."  Elaine is a professional artist with an extensive training background, published distinctions, many exhibitions and commissions by major corporations and organizations. Impressionist Art Reproductions

Our second line of fine art reproductions include classical impressionist American and French paintings by artists such as Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, and Childe Hassam. Proceed to the 'Impressionist' link to view these popular works.
